Martin switched the TV off and put down the remote. The news program emphasised once again how dark the world had become.
It seems that Christians are losing the battle against the dark powers in the air.
“You need to do some renovation, Martin,” Jesus said. “You are a reborn Christian. (John 3:3) That means that while your outer body is getting older, your inner man, your mind, needs to be renewed every day.” (Eph 4:23,24, 2 Cor 4:16)
Martin’s eyes were suddenly wide open. “Why are You telling me this, Lord?”
“I’m telling you this, son, because I have told you a long time ago that following Me isn’t easy.”
“For you to remain standing, you need to renew, to renovate your inner man by seeking My presence every day, by reading the Word and surrendering to the Holy Spirit.”
“By renewing your inner man, you will experience a constant vigour and you will receive strength from the Father in your daily trials.”
“Renovation will also increase your knowledge according to My image.” (Col 3:10)
“Most importantly, Martin, the Father listens and responds to the prayers of His children, something I notice you do less regularly.”
“Therefore, rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good and abstain from every form of evil.” (2 Th 5 16-22)
