It was very early when Peter woke up. He started praying and after a while he said, “Lord, why have You become so quiet lately? I’ve always started every morning talking with You but it seems we have somehow lost connection.”
“My prayers feel like empty whispers. Have You left me, Lord?”
Jesus smiled and whispered in his ear, “Why would I leave you, Peter?”
“Maybe I feel guilty, Lord. I’ve been so busy enjoying my holiday in the first place and secondly, my financial situation keeps telling me I’m at the wrong place, that my relationship with You is not as real as I think it is.”
“If you believe that, Peter, you have an evil heart.”
“Lord, why do You say that?” Peter asked.
“An evil heart is when you have a heart of unbelief.” (Heb 3:12)
“You had confidence in Me when you surrendered your life to Me, remember? To be a constant partaker of Me, you need to hold that confidence steadfast every day by believing in Me.” (Heb 3:14)
“If things in life don’t go the way you think it should, do not rebel in your heart.”
“You don’t know the future, I do. Stop looking at your problems. Seek Me. I have never failed you. I’ve always guided and protected you. Keep confident in Me.”
“Some people are getting very tired lately, Peter.”
“They have the key to enter into My rest of confidence but they fail to use it.”
“That key is faith. Use it.” (Heb 4:2)
