Two Angels Watching

Two angels were watching a married couple who was praying together. The couple had a prayer time scheduled for the early hours of every morning. Because Jesus was always present, the angels could not understand why the couple’s prayers were not always answered.

Angel A said, “Let us look at the two pictures this morning and see if we could spot the difference.”

“You mean there is a difference between the two images other than the fact that they are two individuals of opposite gender,” B replied.

A continued, “I’m referring to their thoughts. You know that people always pray what they are thinking. Thoughts contain the blueprint for the meaning of their words.”

“So let’s take a look at their thoughts, perhaps we can see why their prayers are not answered all the time. Often the pictures differ in many instances.”

“See, they are praying for their finances at the moment but the wife thinks about an increase in salary while the husband thinks about getting another job.”

“They should check their language of thought before they use the verbal version. I don’t think they realise that Jesus knows and understands their thought language.”

God sees the married couple as one beautiful concert. A violin and piano are two completely different instruments but when played in unison, create beautiful music. Two individuals of opposite gender are His pride when operating in unison, in marriage.

On their wedding day, they both verbally promised Jesus that they desire to become one and would always remain one. Jesus took their commitment of unity serious and He expects them to operate accordingly.

The moment they quarrel or are mad at each other, their language of thought takes a trip through a dark alley, creating sad and sometimes regretful feelings. During this time, their prayers are seldom answered, except if it is about reconciliation.

God is unprejudiced and fair and He loves both of them very much. During a time when a man and his wife distance themselves from each other spiritually, Jesus automatically moves a bit further from answering their prayers as well.(1 Peter 3:7)

Prayers of two people spoken in unity, grounded in faith, move mountains.
