Cup of Prayers

Adele, my daughter-in-law, posted a link on Facebook about a song called, Little Drummer Boy, performed by Pentatonix. While listening to it I realised how appropriate this beautiful song is for this time of the year.

During the month of December, we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is the month of giving. Thinking of what we could give Jesus, we find ourselves on common ground with the little drummer boy. We are simply too poor to give Him something of value.

Jesus is just too great and awesome to find something even remotely suitable and worthy enough to offer Him. I was thinking about this when He spoke into my heart.

“Ken, the love of people is all that I want. If My people are happy, I am happy too. Take note that although I am looking forward to one day when we’ll be physically together, every day is already awesome now.”

“There is one thing that you can give Me. I told the disciples in Mark 9:41 that if you give someone a cup of water in My Name, the giver will be rewarded.

In Matthew 25:40 I told you that whatever you give to someone else, you’re giving it to Me. This is all I want.”

“There are many people in need of something somewhere. You are aware of fellow believers all over the world suffering because they are believing in Me. In many parts of the world My children are bullied and killed under the hands of Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus.”

“Due to the vastness of the area and many other reasons, you would not be able to give them even a cup of real water. Cups of water can be many things but the most precious cup is a cup of prayers.”

“You are praying for your family and friends close to you every day and you should never stop doing that. Remember though, My people far away whom you don’t know by name are also part of your family. Broaden your scope towards the ends of the earth and give them a cup of prayer in My Name.”

“That, My child, would be the most beautiful gift. I love people.”
