It is so good to have Bibles to read, to learn about God and grow in spiritual wisdom.
We have libraries filled to the brim with spiritual books, beautiful stories and teachings of writers who had an awesome experience with Jesus. It is very good.
Churches stand big and tall in every town and city. Meeting places of believers where they receive food from the Bible, the bread of life. It is also very good.
We gather to sing and listen to beautiful songs of praise and worship. It is always good.
Ministers and pastors lead us in spiritual truths and wisdom, servants of God who go out and look for those who went missing and got lost or hurt. It is so good to have these people.
We visit fellowship groups regularly to chat and share our ups and downs with, groups where we can offer our support and in turn receive support when needed. It is so good.
We have the Holy Spirit indwelling us, accompanying us wherever we go. He gives us insight in spiritual knowledge and wisdom, telling us what to accept and what to avoid. This is perfect.
And then it happened.
One day we discover that all our programs, how good they may be, is not what God desired. We are too busy learning, churching, enjoying our spiritual blessings that we miss the most important part.
God looked down from heaven to see if there are people who understand true worship, who seek Him, (Psalm 53:2)… and He found none (verse 3)… His people were too busy.
It would have been good if we have kept on seeking the face of God, spent more time to call upon Him (verse4).
We did call upon Him to tell Him we are not well… but He already knew that. We told Him what we needed… He knew that too.
We don’t need to do anything but to love God, everything else follows naturally.
He is so completely different from us, being our Father and yet, also our God and at the same time so completely awesome.
It’ll be very good if we, His children that He loves so dearly, would spend more time with Him, not only because He is good, but because we love Him… really love Him.
Seeking the face of God and staying in His embrace is all He wants because He really loves us.
