Armour

An angel looked at Zelda who was busy combing her hair. He noticed the joy on the face of this teenager. She was getting ready to spend the day with her friends during the school holidays.

Yesterday Jesus told him to keep an eye on this young girl. “She has given her heart to Me. Watch over her every hour of her day,” Jesus said.

He curiously looked at the armour she received when she had accepted Jesus as her Lord. It is so amazing, the angel thought, every Christian receives this armour, custom made and a perfect fit every time. This one is custom made for Zelda.

Her whole armour shines brand new and it looks great. He asked Jesus why she needed him for extra protection since she has the whole armour available to her.

“Every new-born believer receives the whole armour,” Jesus said, “but being a baby Christian, she doesn’t know how to use her armour yet.”

The angel noticed the pain in Jesus’ eyes when He said, “Every believer has received the whole armour but many fail to put it on and only a few use it. Then they blame Me for not caring.”

“Notice how bright the light shines from her helmet of salvation. It is because she prayed and spent time with Me this morning. Many neglect to do that, causing their lights to fade over time. Some are hardly shining anymore.”

“If she would read her Bible regularly, her sword will remain sharp. Many people’s swords have become small and blunt. Some don’t even realise they have swords, not to mention not knowing how or when to use it.”

“Angel, you do realise that the enemy sees her armour too. In fact, they make it their mission to target people wearing armour and the weaker or more neglect the armour appears, the easier it is to target them.”

“Some armour appear battered, not because of battles with the devil, but because people have neglected to look after it.”

“Nobody would lose his armour but when neglected it becomes covered in dust, askew, untidy and the sword small and blunt. Not wearing the shoes could result in treading on thorns in the presence of unbelievers.”

“Until she learns how to use her shield, see to it that she is well protected from the fiery darts of the wicked one.”

“Every new-born has the potential to become a great soldier. What they don’t realise is that they only have to take up their armour and stand. I will do the fighting for them, I am the One protecting them,” Jesus said.

The angel looked at Zelda when she met her friends. He saw how her friends noticed the difference, “Wow, Zelda, you look so different!”

Indeed she does, he thought. She has Jesus. (Ephesians 6:10-20)
