Sarah frowned as she looked at her bank statement. Life is not getting easier, she thought. Everything is on the increase, everything except her salary.
“Jesus, my life seems to be spinning out of control. I’m so tired of running around to make ends meet. Could You perhaps give me one reason why I am living in 2014?”
“Sarah, thousands of years ago I’ve decided that you would be living today.”
“You’ve made a decision to accept Me as your Lord and Saviour when you were still very small. You did that because I touched your heart. No person can claim that he chose Me on his own accord.”
“I can touch hearts without the aid of people but I almost always use people like you to do that and that is exactly what you do.”
“You are not a prominent leader, minister or celebrity in your society. You are, Sarah, the daughter of Peter and Jenifer, married to Phil and you have three children of your own.”
“I can give you a thousand reasons why you are living in 2014.”
“You have touched the hearts of 35 people you had contact with last month. You spoke kind words, which sounded unkind to some. However, they started thinking about your words and it made a difference in the end.”
“Last week you encouraged Phil, who in turn, took your words to heart. This enabled him to make a difference in the lives of 15 other people.”
“When you went shopping, you think that you have decided which shop to visit but it was Me who lead you there at that particular time. In the spiritual realm your presence made a difference in that shop because of your actions, thoughts and words.”
“Your first-born, only 6 years of age, touched the hearts of 5 kids and one teacher recently. He did not do that by preaching. He only had to say a mere word or two, a kind gesture or simple touch made the difference. Words, thoughts and attitudes you invested in him.”
“I can carry on, Sarah, but I need you to realise that you are living precisely in the right time. Unfortunately, tougher times lie ahead. You are living now because I know you can handle it and when the time arrives, you would still be able to make a difference the way only you can do.”
