Sitting in His Lap

Serena got up at 5 in the morning and with a cup of coffee in her hand, started reading her Bible. She was busy for a while until Jesus gave her something new. “Go back to bed and rest a bit more. As you do, surrender yourself into the hands of God, Our Father.”

It was early and being a bit tired, she welcomed the idea of going back to bed. As she closed her eyes, she surrendered herself into the arms of the Father. In her spirit, she envisioned herself sitting in His lap, resting against Him with her head pressed against His shoulder.

This is absolutely the best place to be, she thought, being so close to God. At that moment, Jesus said, “Serena, I want you to do this as often as you please.”

Then Jesus revealed something which caused her to sit straight up in bed. “You will not always have the privilege of sitting in the lap of the Father or in His arms. Once you get into heaven, you will not be able to do it again.”

“In heaven you will be closer to God than you physically ever have been. You will always be in His immediate presence. He will still enjoy your presence but at a completely different level of intensity. To be in His arms as you are, now will most probably not be possible again after this life.”

“Savour these special moments while you are still alive. Enjoy His close, personal and intimate presence, not that it would be different in heaven but it would be on another level.”

“Keep in mind that He cherishes these moments and your desire to stay in His arms for as long as possible, just as much as you do. He cherishes these tender moments because this is exactly who He wants to be, Our Father!”

“You have no idea how much He loves you! I’m asking you to do this for His sake more than yours.”

Once again, Serena surrendered everything into His arms and she was sure she felt Him kissing her on the head. “Thank You, My Father!”
