If I were an Angel

If you were an angel, where would you be?
Flying around in heaven or walking here on earth with me?
If you were Jesus, what would you do?
Be with the Father in heaven or rather with people just like you?

If you were not born, nobody would have known
nobody would even have cared,
not even you would have dared
to wonder why nobody cared

It’s only since the day you were formed
You became someone to be adored
You gave your life to Jesus and He set you free
to be His bride, His joy and His pride

I don’t understand it
But I’m so glad He does:
He chose to know you…
and still keeps on loving you!

You with your flesh and bones, emotions and breath
will still be with Jesus long after your death
Now you see, if I were an angel…
I would have wished I were you!

Here

I’m here
looking at the fire
notice how the tongues
devour seconds one by one

A long line of seconds
simply keeps on coming
they seem to have no end
but the moment they arrive, it is the end

Here, is a wall
standing strong and tall
a second’s brief glory
that’s all

Since creation long ago,
seconds wait in one long row
looking forward to be here
and when they do… simply disappear

Beyond here,
no second ever re-appear
only footprints of our memories
of what we did when it was here

Back there on our footprints
of memories in time
lie all the seconds
a long expired line

Every second comes
for us to grab and grow
We can take and use it
or simply let it go

Somewhere in the future
at the end of second line
the last one holds a banner
second’s end is nigh

We believe in Jesus
took His hand in love
a whole new world awaits us then
We’ll look at God first-hand

Now, we are still here in second-land!
To live!
Cause God is also here
holding our hand!

The Bridegroom

Follow Me rather than lean on Me

Love Me instead of using Me

Desire to be in Me
Rather than desiring to be covered by My protection

Long to hear Me and stop asking Me to serve you
Desire to know My plans for you and stop telling Me to bless all your plans

Let My presence accompany you because of Me
not because of My power in your presence

Sow My Word and you will discover it costs nothing
Sow My Word and expect it to multiply

Tell people who I am and how they should live with Me
Rather than how prosperous they would become in worshipping Me from a distance
Count your moments of grace instead of your money.

Gather a treasure where quakes and tsunamis cannot enter
I am your God because I love you, not because I need you

I died on the cross for you because you are precious to Me
What would you do for Me?

I sent you My indwelling Spirit to make you part of Me
I trust you surrendered your life to Me, to be part of Me too

I have everything but if you would be missing I’d leave everything to find you
Would you do the same for Me?

You don’t speak to Me for most of the day and yet,
I choose to remain in your presence
When you do not speak to Me, you forget Me and ignore Me

I am with you in moments of silence and sound
However, when you are busy or even relax, you choose not to have Me around

When you get hurt you blame Me
I know you weren’t aware of every time I’ve protected you
Otherwise you would have thanked Me

I love you and want to be with you and I want you to want to be with Me too
Desire to be with Me before you come home

I want to welcome you into heaven,
not introduce Myself to you when you arrive

I am the Bridegroom remember
you are My bride

Words on the Ground

A word on paper
has meaning to show
the curious reader
who needs to know
Yet…
If nobody wants to know
none would read
then the words are forsaken
and become as deceased
suddenly, withered as leaves
they lie on the ground

Spoken words
are different though
Shaped in syllables
of waves and sound
Pregnant with feelings
of Heart and mind
Yet…
with no-one to hear,
it falls to the ground
and simply disappear

The Word of God
is clear about this
Grow close to Him
and He will stay close
to you
Then…
when you speak,
No word
will fall to the ground, (1 Sam 3:19)
blow away,
or merely disappear

Flower

The essence of a flower is the aroma and the colour of the petals.
Sadly, when one petal is missing or bruised,
the flower is often esteemed as unfit to be used.
Imagine, only one single petal missing and it’s simply cast aside!

The one-petal-missing-flower astonishingly continues to portray and spread its authentic quintessence.
In the bin between the trimmed leaves, thorns, empty paper cups and apple cores, it fills the dark inside with its beauty and redolence.

If you feel you carry a label called “reject,”
Haven’t you noticed, no person is perfect? (Rom 3:23)

Through My eyes, Jesus says, I value the imperfect without a dent
Some petals may be bruised, others absent
they will still be in My posy, some in a bouquet
I will never just toss them away

It hurt when you have lost the petal, and you wept
when I picked you up to place you in the centre of the set

I am so glad you have stopped crying, but why do you turn your face aside?
When I put you in the posy, it was not meant for you to hide.

I chose you because I love you! Even though you miss a petal or three
you will always remain perfect-petal-precious to Me!”

Get up and Walk!

The world is tough My child, that I know
you are blaming Me for feeling low
you are walking backwards, dear
facing front but back you go

you have the light, bright and strong
yet you only see the sad and wrong
looking at darkness for so long
the light seems faded, almost gone

you’ve been moving backwards
with no intent of going there
but by standing motionless
you moved deep into despair

life is on the move, My child
keep up, keep moving too
I was also hurt
by people just like you

you showed remorse
I wiped you clean
that was yesterday
and yesterday is far away

life is filled with good and bad
keep the good and drop the sad
don’t lose hope, no need to run
live your life and enjoy the fun

I am with you at your side
but YOU must go ahead
get up and walk!
yesterday is dead

Know Me

My child, as you know, I am in you.
What do you do when you need Me?
Phone a friend or post a request on social media?

What do you see when you look for Me?
Or don’t you expect to see Me.
What do you hear when you speak to Me?
Or don’t you expect to hear Me.

You are being destroyed because of a lack of knowledge,
In fact, you have rejected knowledge. (Hosea 4:6)

Your voice often cries out to Me but not your heart (Hosea 7:14)
You often return, but not to Me. (Hosea 7:16)

Instead of following people or churches,
why don’t you follow Me?
Why don't you seek Me?

What are you sowing?
Sometimes, you sow the wind and reap the whirlwind (Hosea 8:7)

Sow righteousness and you will reap mercy (Hosea 10:12)
Then I will rain righteousness on you (Hosea 10:12)

Remember this – I will never give you up! (Hosea 11:8)
I know what you’ve been going through.

Many days My heart churns within Me for you. (Hosea 11:8)
My sympathy is stirred just looking at you. (Hosea 11:8)

Don’t try to do these days on your own
Take My help and return to Me (Hosea 12:6)
Wait continually on Me (Hosea 12:6)

There is no Saviour besides Me (Hosea 13:4)
Listen carefully – don’t come to Me emptyhanded…
Take words with when you return (Hosea 14:2)
Say and speak to Me while offering the sacrifices of your lips (Hosea 14:2)

I love the sound of your voice,
a melody played on the strings of your heart.

I am your Saviour and your Lord.
You will no longer call Me “My Master”, but... “My Husband”. (Hosea 2:16)

How well do you know Me?
Do you know My face?
Do you know My voice?

The Prodigal Son

He wanted all
he wanted out
So he went
and spent
it all
All he had was...
nothing

Nothing push friends
away like
nothing
Alone
hungry and lost
Down at the feet
where the pigs eat

I want back
He thought…
Back home
I’ll be a servant
unfree but glad
Safe at the feet
of my dad

Still far from home
his dad came running
and cried, but...
How did dad know?
By chance saw him
coming
up the road?

Since the day you left
my son,
I kept watching this road
you’ve chosen to take
From sunrise
till late
all I could do was wait

The moral of this story
Jesus says
is when you’re at home
you’re safe
When you wander off or stray
My eyes
remain on you all the way

I gave you freedom
of choice to play, even…
to go away
When you decide
to walk back to Me
I’ll come running too,
from not so far away

The New Suit

I was so late; my calendar was two days ahead.

I was filthy, I was wrong.

I was mean, selfish and obscene.

I thought I was the apple of God’s eye. Me, the most important guy.

Then I met her…

Integrity is her name. Beautiful, naked... without shame.

At first I saw what my eyes loved to see, the wonderful, beautiful me.

Then I discovered the real deal, exposed, repulsive and unclean.

I saw things I didn’t believe could be. All the grime and dirt, is this the real true me?

Too late to change my history, I wanted to run, hide and flee.

I stumbled to Jesus… crumbled at His feet.

He grabbed me and kissed me on the head. “I have been waiting for you,” was all He said.

“I’ve cleaned you child, from top to toe. As white as silk and as clean as snow.”

“I don't care where you have been or in how many blunders you’ve been seen. I love you!”

“What you have done, I remember no more. Stay here and stop keeping score.”

“Rest in Me and live your life with no regret.”

“Breathe Me in and breathe Me out. My Spirit is your Air and Bread and Blood.”

“Come, let’s take a different route and here, take My Armor as your brand new suite.” (Ephesians 6:10-18)

The Fruitless Tree

It was one of those days when
my flaws showed up and I could clearly see
the road I’ve travelled… and all the debris

Jesus killed a fruitless tree
what about me?

I am a child off God, the apple of His eye
He loved me and yet… I wondered why
So many things I’ve done so bad

Jesus killed a fruitless tree
what would He do to me?

There was a time when He remembered me
Days of wonders so astound
I gave my life and more… thought I had the perfect score

Jesus killed a fruitless tree
what would He see, looking at me?

He gently took me to His side and said that
I’m a man… not a tree
He killed the tree but He died for me
Even if I fail and fall, He still smiles all over me

He made the tree to be
But me He made with a destiny
