Jesus with you

On the day before the Passover meal, Jesus told Peter and John to go ahead and prepare the event. (Luke 22:8)

He told them exactly what they would find once they have entered the city in a short “video clip” of future events.

“Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house he enters.”

“Then you shall say to the master of house, ‘The teacher says to you, where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’”

“Then he will show you a large furnished upper room.”

Jesus saw every little detail, the man carrying a water pitcher at the exact moment they enter the city, the two of them following him and He saw them talking to the master of the house. He saw the furnished room upstairs, everything. He knew and He still knows future events.

During the meal, Jesus revealed who would betray Him and how Peter would deny Him three times.

After the Passover meal, Jesus was praying in the garden where His sweat became as blood falling on the ground. He was afraid. He saw the images of what He was about to experience very soon.

He saw the soldiers, the beatings, the crown of thorns, the humiliation, the nailing of His hands and feet onto the cross and His own lonely death.

He also saw the darkness, the demons and His confrontation with the devil.

The devil was conquered, our sins are washed away and now we have the option to take His hand and walk with Him.

That day in the garden, more than 2000 years ago, Jesus saw you and me breathing today’s air. He still sees our decisions and hear our words even in our tomorrows.

He sees the choice to walk with Him like Henoch did. He saw us accepting His blood sacrifice for our redemption but He also sees us putting Him aside to try and walk on our own oftentimes.

When Jesus saw His destiny before His crucifixion, He went ahead regardless of what had to happen.

Jesus knows our today and tomorrow and He wants us to take hold of Him, not as a fortune teller trying to avoid future problems, but as a Friend, holding our hands in troubled times.

He knows tomorrow and He sees you in it, ready to follow Him… or not.

He saw you then and He marvelled. He still loves you very much. He will always hold your hand… only if you let Him.
