Hess opens her eyes and looks at her watch. “Oh, I wish I could sleep a little longer!“

It is still dark outside but she has to get up and start preparing for the new day ahead. Trying not to disturb her husband, she gets up and suddenly remembers, “Oh, sorry Lord, morning Jesus.”

Jesus smiles back at her, “Morning, child. I’m so glad you’re awake. When you sleep I still watch over you but I am waiting anxiously every day for you to wake up and start your day living with Me.”

“Jesus, I surrendered my life to You years ago and I have been doing it every morning since. I love You, Jesus.”

”I love you too, Hess. I see you every morning hugging your seven-year-old daughter before she leaves for school and I notice the desire in your heart to spend more time with her, but you can’t. I notice the concern as you look at Tom, your eleven-year-old, wondering how he got that big so fast. He grows up in your house and yet, it feels as if you have missed a big part of his life.

That is how I feel about you. Although you greet Me, I eagerly wait in the womb of every morning for you to start the new day with Me. However, when the day is old and about to end, I am still left out of your life.“

“Womb of the morning, Lord?”

“Many years ago I laid down my life for you in the womb of the morning. When I was captured I heard how Peter denied Me three times before the rooster crowed. Roosters crow in the womb of the morning, Hess, the time the new day is about to be born and new things start to happen. I am still watching people during that part of the day and do you know how many people deny Me still?

All I desire is to join them in their daily lives because I love them more than you love your children but I am denied the chance to spend the day with them. You surrendered your life to Me and I am very glad that you volunteered your life to God. You have given your life to Me and I took you into My hands with joy. However, Just as I took you into My hands, I want you to take Me into yours. I want you to take Me and hold on to Me, to accompany you throughout the day.

Christians all over the world are still missing true life because they reserve their lives for themselves and deny Me My presence in it. Do you know what you are missing if you choose not to do that? The best time of the day to take My hand is in the womb of the morning.”

With tears in her eyes Hess opens her arms towards heaven and smiles back at Jesus. Oh what a wonderful day this is going to be!

Open your eyes. Are they OPEN or just noticing what you are writing? That’s right, open your spiritual eyes. Also let your spiritual ears be opened wide, the way they are when you write these words. Open also your spiritual mind and brain and knowledge and understanding.

When you think about the world and the people who make a mess of it, you notice the wars and death and lies and corruption. Now, open your eyes and what do you see physically? You see the sun is shining, the sea is calm, and the wind is tender and cool. This is the real world today. I know there are wars and quakes and tsunamis and death and destruction in many places, but what you fail to see, is My presence and My hand in this world.

Things are happening in nature because I decreed its path when I said, “let there be.” It is not new things that are happening now. This world must end and a new one is on its way.

The deception and murders and lies of the devil are his doing among his followers. Do not fret. He is in a terrible state of panic because he knows his end is near.

I am, My child. Remember My Name, “I am”. That means also that I am aware of everything. I am in charge. I am your Father, your Lord, Saviour and as you wrote last week, I am also the Bridegroom. If I would choose a way for you to live, what do you suppose it should look like? A life in fear and worries, or a life of hope and joy? You are the bride. The wedding is taking place soon. How do you think I feel when I notice My bride walking around with a long, sad and worried face? Come on, My child, I am on My way to meet you. Have joy and be exceedingly glad.

Do you understand now why I told you to open your eyes? Look at the reality, not the signs of corruption.

Look forward to our day of meeting. On that day I will be coming to you riding on the clouds. You will hear a physical trumpet sounding My approach and on that day you will see the heavens opened.

Plan your wedding, My bride. Prepare for the feast. Invite all the guests, everyone who would join you. Start celebrating now.

What you also fail to remember, is that I am already in your presence!

Yes, now you get it. Smile!

Constant Communication

I experienced a communication disaster on Wednesday two weeks ago when our telephone lines went down. On Friday evening Telkom texted me that the problem had been resolved. The lines however, remained dead for almost two weeks. Whether I shouted or whispered, no communication could go through.

This reminded me of a time when I was still living with my parents at a younger age. One of our uncles visited us and when we sat down for lunch, my dad asked him to say grace. He did that but spoke very softly. Afterwards my dad thanked him but commented that he could not hear a word he said. My uncle replied, “But I wasn’t talking to you.”

It is interesting how people talk to God. I also remember times on our farm when I saw my dad outside standing motionless with his hat in his hand, staring up into the blue skies. I instinctively knew that he was communicating with God with his eyes open, not saying an audible word.

One day Jesus told me to believe with my eyes wide open. As I mentioned in a previous letter, I did not understand it at first. Later I discovered that when I pray with my eyes wide open, a sense of reality that Jesus is physically present, kicks in.

One reason for closing our eyes when we pray is to cut out all distractions around us, which is fine, but then we would be using our imagination to see Him present in our minds. Jesus wants us to communicate with Him without us using our imagination simply because He really is present with us. Imagination is not faith. If imagination was equal to faith, fairytales would be true.

One day I realised that Jesus had become very quiet in my life. Immediately I realised it was working the other way round. Because I had been neglecting Him, I had in fact become very quiet in His life. When we become too busy, we start to listen less to what He is saying and spend less time with Him. Then we have the audacity to put all the blame on Him for not communicating with us.

Later on that same day I went to town with a long to-do list. I drove from one stop to the next to cover the items jotted down. Every now and then I remembered something I had to do that was not on the list and I “incidentally” discovered that every new to-do item was on route to my next destination. This happened a couple of times when I suddenly realised it was the Lord leading me in His special way, reminding me what I still need to do which was not written down on my list.

“Thank You, Jesus! You are still talking to me!” – “Yes, Ken, but don’t ignore Me. Talk to Me too!”

This is what it means to me to believe with my “eyes wide open”. Whether I close my eyes during prayer, or whether I pray with my eyes wide open, I do not stop communicating with God when I say amen, because He remains present with me anyway.

Communicating with Jesus is not picking up a phone to dial or sending e-mail or an SMS to someone far away. The lines are always connected. Communicating with Jesus is speaking to Him, sometimes seriously, sometimes respectfully casual, sometimes audibly and sometimes softly, but most importantly, continuously.

Believe and see

Abbey pushed her Bible away. “Lord, You told the people that everyone who sees You and believes in You, have everlasting life… I can’t see You, Lord.” (John 6:40)

“Abbey, God sent Me to those people so that they could see Me and then believe in Me. Many of them only wanted to witness the miracles and signs.”

“The creation of the universe is a miracle but the world refuses to believe that. Miracles today get all the attention as if it is uncommon and yet, you are living on a miracle.”

“After you have accepted Me as your Saviour, the miracles are in you, My child. The power is in you to do things exceedingly, abundantly above all that you ask or think.” (Ephs 3:20)

“I know, Lord, but I fail to achieve that.”

“Perhaps it is because you fail to see Me.”

“But, Lord, I cannot see You. You are in heaven.”

“That is true but I told you some time ago that I can see your faith. You are able to do the same. Do you see Me now?”

“No, Lord, but I know You are here.”

“I asked if you could see Me.”

Abbey closed her eyes.

“No, dear, keep your eyes open. You don’t need to close your eyes to see Me. Accept the fact that I am here!”

“Yes, Lord, You are. I think I understand. I see Your image, Your presence, You are here.”

“Since the day you started to believe in Me, you have the Holy Spirit, and you are able to see Me.”

“When you see Me with you, you will also experience the miracles and signs in your life.”

“I told the people in those days to see and then believe in Whom they see, and they will have everlasting life. At that point in time they were unable to experience what you are experiencing now by seeing and then believe.”

“When you have a problem, look at Me. When you need something, seek My face.”

“Thank You, Jesus. I believe. Help me to keep my eyes open and fixed on You.”

We saw Jesus!

The following is a true account of what happened to a married couple Thom and Sally (fictitious names) in the beginning of 2014.

Jesus Christ is not a famous prophet who lived more than 2000 years ago. He is famous yes, but He is the Son of God and He is alive, speaks to His followers, and manifests Himself to them.

In 2013, Sally was led by Jesus to work for a school that claimed to have Christian morals and standards. Since her employment, she soon realised that the school’s leaders were operating in a non-Christian way. The students even asked her whether a Christian leader is supposed to operate the way they do.

When the leaders discovered that she is not to follow their unholy ways and that she in fact had shown them on their mistakes, they started to make plans of letting her go.

During that time, the couple prayed seriously and then they realised how real Jesus is.

It happened early one morning when Thom sat on the side of their bed. Sally was still in bed and she sat upright when Thom took place next to her. They started praying and asked Jesus to assist them in their case, which seemed lost from a human perspective.

They realised that Jesus had a purpose for Sally to make a difference in that company. While praying, they saw something that they did not reveal to each other at first. Jesus spoke to them individually and gave them Scripture to read.

Later that same day when they were talking about the recent events, Thom told Sally what he saw when they prayed and then she revealed something astonishing as well.

“You know, Sally, when we prayed this morning, I saw Jesus. I saw Him entering the room. He stood between us and then He put His one hand on your head and His other hand on mine. He gave us Scripture but He also told me how much He loves us.”

Sally smiled at him and said, “I saw Him too, exactly the same way you described it to me. He came into the room, stood between us and put His hands on our heads. He said we shouldn’t be afraid and that He loves us.”

“Yes,” Thom said, “I did not want to tell you initially because I thought you might not believe me and now I am so glad I did. Jesus told the disciples one day that He would manifest Himself to them and we experienced it personally!” (John 14:21)

“That and the fact that He spoke directly to us are awesome!”

“Jesus is the only True Saviour and Son of God, also God! He makes time to talk to His children personally! We should make more time to meet Him.”

Follow Me

Neville was walking towards the top of the hill when he stumbled and fell. While dusting himself off he asked, “Lord, Jesus, I wanted to get to a quiet spot where I could pray and talk to You. Why is it so hard sometimes to get Your attention?” he said smiling.

“Why are you making it so hard on yourself?” Jesus asked. “You always have My attention.”

“I know, Lord but I thought if I could get to a quiet place in nature where I could pray it would be nice.”

“Now why do you want to look down at Me, Neville?”

“Are You down there, Lord? I thought You are here with me?’

“I am glad you realise that. I am always with you but now I’m way ahead of you, waiting for you at the place where I need you and that is not on top of that hill.”

“Where do You want me to be, Lord?”

“Neville, this morning you’ve read Psalm 23 and you have confessed that I am your shepherd. Note that a shepherd is always walking in front, leading his flock to the best pastures.”

“I am the Good Shepherd (John 10:12) and since you have decided to serve Me, you need to follow Me because where I am, My servants will be also.” (John 12:26)

“Do you understand what I’ve just said?”

“I think I do, Lord. You are with people who are in need. You are waiting for me there and when I arrive, my life will take more meaning through Your presence.”

“Yes, Neville but realise that your life always has meaning and secondly, I’m always with you.”

“Millions of people are looking for My presence. Only a few have discovered that I am personally present where people are in need. If they have followed Me, they would have known.”

“You may enjoy your quiet time but now I need you to follow Me. Go to where you usually go every morning. You will soon discover what you need to do.”

Jesus with you

On the day before the Passover meal, Jesus told Peter and John to go ahead and prepare the event. (Luke 22:8)

He told them exactly what they would find once they have entered the city in a short “video clip” of future events.

“Behold, when you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house he enters.”

“Then you shall say to the master of house, ‘The teacher says to you, where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’”

“Then he will show you a large furnished upper room.”

Jesus saw every little detail, the man carrying a water pitcher at the exact moment they enter the city, the two of them following him and He saw them talking to the master of the house. He saw the furnished room upstairs, everything. He knew and He still knows future events.

During the meal, Jesus revealed who would betray Him and how Peter would deny Him three times.

After the Passover meal, Jesus was praying in the garden where His sweat became as blood falling on the ground. He was afraid. He saw the images of what He was about to experience very soon.

He saw the soldiers, the beatings, the crown of thorns, the humiliation, the nailing of His hands and feet onto the cross and His own lonely death.

He also saw the darkness, the demons and His confrontation with the devil.

The devil was conquered, our sins are washed away and now we have the option to take His hand and walk with Him.

That day in the garden, more than 2000 years ago, Jesus saw you and me breathing today’s air. He still sees our decisions and hear our words even in our tomorrows.

He sees the choice to walk with Him like Henoch did. He saw us accepting His blood sacrifice for our redemption but He also sees us putting Him aside to try and walk on our own oftentimes.

When Jesus saw His destiny before His crucifixion, He went ahead regardless of what had to happen.

Jesus knows our today and tomorrow and He wants us to take hold of Him, not as a fortune teller trying to avoid future problems, but as a Friend, holding our hands in troubled times.

He knows tomorrow and He sees you in it, ready to follow Him… or not.

He saw you then and He marvelled. He still loves you very much. He will always hold your hand… only if you let Him.

I Miss you so much!

Missing a loved one is an agonizing and heartbreaking experience. However, it is the most agonizing experience of all when someone you love is within reach but chooses not to contact you.

This is exactly what Jesus experiences when He says that He misses us. God accepts us with open arms when we commit our lives to Him, only to find us separated from Him after a while.

The problem is not salvation but the choices we make. We are mostly tangled up in our cobwebs of “survival” in a modern lifestyle dedicated to our physically oriented style of living, which renders us incapable to experience God. He longs to have a relationship with us, but we choose to be preoccupied by problems, fear, entertainment, sport, internet and many more seemingly important things. The way we choose to live, often leads us to be absent and separated from God.

It would be unacceptable for most of us to be married to someone we do not know. Jesus is the bridegroom waiting for us, His bride. He knows us but He wants His bride to know Him before the wedding day and to look forward to that day.

We know His Name but we do not know Him.

Jesus is in us, but we refuse to spend time with Him because we want to do what we desire and should we decide to spend some time with Him, we simply do not know how.

We should be able to hear the voice of Jesus leading us in life, and yet, many Christians admit that they fail to hear His voice or fail to experience His presence in their lives.

Every human being has a spirit but more than 2000 years after Christ, only a few of us are spiritually mature.

Jesus is calling out into the world

I miss you so much. Don’t you miss Me too?

WAKE UP – TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!

Come Closer

Come Closer

Louis’ grandson was playing on the carpet. He desired to hold this boy in his arms but every time he tried to do that, the little fellow started whining. It hurt Louis very much.

“I know exactly what you are experiencing, Louis.” Jesus said.

“Wow, Lord, I didn’t know…, I didn’t realise…, I forgot You are here too!”

“Yes, I know. What you are experiencing now is similar to what I feel. Loving people proves to be very painful sometimes.”

“You have a burning desire to hold your grandson in your arms and smell his hair in your face and yet, the moment he looks at you, he starts crying.”

“I love all the people in the world but those who accepted Me as their Father are part of My close family. Families are supposed to be close… Mine aren’t.”

“I desire My children to come running to Me like small children with their arms held up high in order for Me to pick them up and hold them close to Me… but they don’t come running. They don’t even want to come closer.”

“If they don’t come running to Me every morning, I still want them at least to come to Me when they are in trouble. Many don’t even do that. They don’t trust in My presence.”

“Many come to Me and pray for miracles. Afterwards, they simply stop coming closer.”

“What do You desire me to do, Lord?” Louis asked.

“All I want is that you would seek My face, not because you need Me but because you want to be close to Me. To sit in My lap not because you desire healing or blessings, but just because you long to be close to Me… because you love being close to Me.”

Louis looked at his grandson and noticed that he is looking back at him, for the first time without crying.

“Don’t push it, Louis. I always give people time to come around and notice that My love for them is genuine. I am patient, you should be too.”

“Thank You, Lord. I love You. You truly are an awesome Father!”

Farmer of Light

Farmer of Light

The heavy curtains were losing the battle against the morning sunlight by the time Esmé woke up.

Her hand stretched out to the other side of the bed only to touch an empty space. Then she remembered this empty space is part of her life now. It was almost two months since Paul had passed away but the emptiness remained a grim reality she hasn’t got used to yet.

“Oh, when will I ever get used to this?” she said. “Oops, I’m talking to myself again… wait! Lord, Jesus, You are here, I’m not talking to myself am I? Morning, Jesus!”

“Good mornIng, My child. It’s good to hear you talking.”

She smelled the aroma of coffee filtering into her room, indicating that her daughter was awake too. She got dressed and freed the curtains from their battle. Light burst into the room, exploding and ricocheting over the walls, mirror and furniture.

“Lord, thank You for this light!”

“It is My gift to you, My child. You know that I am also Light, the Light of this world and My light is your life.” (John 1:4, 8:12)

“Oh, yes, I do, Lord!” Esmé replied with her hands in the air.

“Something else, Esmé, you may call Me the Farmer of Light. Apart from the fact that righteous people have My light, I am sowing light on them too. (Psalm 97:11)

Never, ever would a righteous person be without light, even in the gloomiest of circumstances or in the darkest of nights.”

“I know, Lord, because since Paul died my world did not turn dark.”

“My child, you have the Holy Spirit and Me, and you are spreading My light into this world. Glow and shine wherever you go.”

Esmé took a sip of coffee and a smile crept onto her face. “I love You, Lord. It is a painful experience to be without Paul, but I am still happy because You are here!”

“In fact, My child, that happens because the Farmer of light takes with every handful of light, a handful of gladness in His other hand to sow over His children (Psalm 97:11). If you lack joy, just come a bit closer.”

“Light and joy are sown on you every day. It is for you to take and rejoice!”
