Step 5

Get baptised. Baptism is a sign by which you openly confess your faith in Jesus Christ by being submerged under water to symbolise the death of your sins and rising out of the water into a new life covered by the blood of the Lamb, washed clean and filled with the Spirit of God.

Mat 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Col 2:11 In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

Col 2:12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

Step 4

Surrender yourself to God with all that you are and all that you have, including your family.

Remember however, that every member of your family has to follow the same steps.

Rest assured that if your children are too small to understand and make the decision on their own, they are included in your salvation provided you teach them about Jesus as they grow up. When they are big enough to understand, lead them to accept His salvation too.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

John 10:28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

Step 3

Ask Jesus in your own words to forgive your sins. Tell Him that you believe He has paid for your sins and that He is alive. Ask Jesus to accept you as His child and then believe in your heart that He has wiped away all your sins.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Rom 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13 For “WHOEVER CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.”

John 5:24 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

John 8:31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

Step 2

There is only one way of getting rid of the wages of sin but before we get there, read the following modern day parable explaining why Jesus had to become man.

Louis visited one of his farmer friends who was busy ploughing his lands to prepare the soil for the new maize season. He noticed a nest of black ants in the land carrying bits of the previous crop into their nest.

Louis realised that thousands of ants would be killed and the upper part of the ant nest would be destroyed very soon, as the tractors with the ploughs were approaching rapidly. The ants however, were unaware of this danger, a situation similar to the one in Japan when thousands of Japanese were unaware of a devastating tsunami rolling towards their towns at record speed. If only someone could have warned them timeously….

Louis looked at those ants and wondered how he could warn them to seek refuge deep down in the safety of their nest before it was too late. He clapped his hands on the ground and threw some sand in their direction but it was of no avail. They kept on with their daily routine as if nothing was wrong.

When Louis realised it was impossible to rescue them, he heard the voice of Jesus telling him that the only way he could warn and save them, is to become an ant himself. Being an ant, he would be able to warn all of them and send them into the safety of the nest.

That is why Jesus had to become man to show us who God really is. Jesus, however, did not only show us and warned us. He also took the punishment for our sins upon Himself. This He did by paying for every sin through His death on the cross.

That is why it is crucial to believe in Jesus Christ, our Saviour. Believe that He is the Son of God, Who died on the cross for our sins and that He is raised from the dead and is alive today.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

John 1:12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: Remember that Jesus died for sinners like us.

Step 1

God is Holy and to receive us as His children into His family, we need to be holy too.

No person on earth is without sin and therefore we were unable to become His family.

Rom 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1John 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

Step 6

Thank Jesus for what He has done and follow Him. If you don’t have a Bible, get one or download a Bible app, read and study it daily. Find other Christians and join a church, a home group or Christian friends.

Whenever you find yourself in any crisis, you may now call on the Name of Jesus Christ!

He will answer you!

God did this for you because He loves you

All He asks of you is to love Him back with all your heart, mind and soul and to love your neighbour as you love yourself

Invitation to follow Christ

Jesus once said (John 14) “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

Many people believe think that Christianity is exclusively for certain people only.

Every person, regardless of faith, is welcome in God’s house. Every sinner is accepted into the family of Jesus.

Male or female, healthy or ill, rich or poor, any age is welcome in the Lord’s house and family.

The choice is yours.

Do not delay! Time to choose is running out. If you die before you have made the choice – time to choose is forever gone!

Once Jesus appears to come and fetch us, the time to choose has expired.

How to do it

Come, take His hand today!
